Medical devices based on zeolite and bentonite

Natural minerals to support the binding and elimination of heavy metals from the body: our medical devices based on clinoptilolite zeolite, montmorillonite bentonite and combinations of both materials are certified under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

Zeolite and bentonite: the difference

Both are natural silicate minerals, and the difference lies in their structure. That gives us three ways to use them.

Zeolite

Clinoptilolite is one of the framework silicates. Silicon and aluminium tetrahedra form a three-dimensional framework with channels and cavities. How the material is selected and processed is decisive for each specific product.

Bentonite

Bentonite consists mainly of montmorillonite, a sheet silicate. Thin layers made up of tetrahedral and octahedral sheets lie one on top of another, with exchangeable cations and water between them.

  • BentonitMED

Combination

ZeoBentMED brings zeolite and bentonite together in one product, combining the three-dimensional framework of zeolite with the layered structure of bentonite to make use of the properties of both minerals.

A framework full of channels

Clinoptilolite is a natural zeolite of volcanic origin. It formed over a long period from volcanic ash and water. The channels in its framework measure less than one nanometre and are distributed throughout the entire crystal lattice.

The mode of action

How zeolite works: four steps from the stomach to natural elimination.

Does not enter the bloodstream

Zeolite is not metabolised and does not enter the bloodstream. It acts exclusively in the gastrointestinal tract.

4

Natural elimination

Zeolite is excreted naturally via the bowel, together with the substances it has bound.

Certified under the MDR

Everything about use, warnings and safety is set out in the instructions for use supplied with every product.

EU MDRCE
IIb

The class depends on the intended purpose. Class IIb devices are subject to stricter requirements for assessment and monitoring than lower classes.

Assessed by a notified body

Class IIb medical devices undergo a conformity assessment by an independent notified body before they bear the CE marking.

Monitored after being placed on the market

The notified body audits our quality management system regularly, and we systematically evaluate feedback from the market.
